Strengths
- Silky smooth route runner with deceptive acceleration who gets defenders leaning the wrong way and creates natural separation at the stem of his routes.
- Sticky hands with tremendous body control to adjust to off-target throws - shows the concentration to maintain focus through contact in traffic.
- Threat after the catch with surprising juice - doesn't go down on first contact and shows some dog in him fighting for extra yards in the open field.
- Middle-field nightmare who understands how to settle in zone windows and present a clean target - consistently finds the soft spots in coverage.
- High-point specialist with basketball rebounding instincts who boxes out defenders and uses his frame effectively to shield the ball from coverage.
- Former quarterback with advanced football intelligence who recognizes defensive leverage pre-snap and adjusts his routes accordingly mid-play.
- Versatile chess piece who can align in-line, in the slot, or split wide - creates consistent matchup problems against linebackers and safeties.
- Red zone weapon with natural timing on jump balls - understands how to use body positioning and late hands to prevent defenders from making plays.
Areas to Improve
- Blocking technique remains a work in progress - too often plays with high pad level and allows defenders to get into his chest and drive him backward.
- Needs to add functional core and lower body strength to handle NFL edge defenders at the point of attack in the run game.
- Medical history raises some flags - lost significant development time with the ankle injury that cut his 2023 season short after just five games.
- Can occasionally telegraph his breaks against savvy defenders who recognize his subtle tells before cutting - will need to become more deceptive.
- Still developing hand placement as a blocker - tends to get grabby rather than striking with proper positioning inside the defender's frame.
