Scouting Report
A 6-5, 325-pound converted tight-end-turned-tackle from San Jose State who started 13 games at left tackle in 2024 and 12 games at left guard in 2025 as an Arkansas team captain. He has crafty hand work and strength to clench and wall off defenders once engaged, though his lack of length and mediocre quickness create soft edges that leave little margin for error. His best shot at sticking on a roster may be at center, and Bleacher Report ranked him 26th among linemen post-combine with a 5.9 grade.
Player Comparison
Matt Farniok
Strengths
- Ideal size and length for a tackle, with a dense, well-distributed frame that provides a strong foundation for both pass and run blocking.
- Displays elite explosiveness off the snap, allowing him to quickly engage defenders and establish positioning in both pass protection and run blocking scenarios.
- Demonstrates impressive foot speed and agility for his size, enabling effective recovery against speed rushers and efficient movement in space.
- Possesses outstanding power at the point of attack, consistently driving defenders off the line of scrimmage and creating lanes in the run game.
- Shows good hand placement and punch timing, effectively neutralizing pass rushers' initial moves and maintaining control throughout engagements.
- Exhibits excellent spatial awareness and blocking range, effectively picking up stunts and blitzes while also excelling as a puller in the run game.
- Demonstrates a nasty finishing mentality, playing through the whistle and consistently looking to pancake defenders when the opportunity arises.
- Versatile skill set allows him to excel in both zone and power run schemes.
Areas to Improve
- Occasionally plays with high pad level, particularly in pass protection, which can compromise his leverage and make him susceptible to bull rushes.
- Needs to improve consistency in his kick-slide technique, as he sometimes fails to gain sufficient depth, leaving him vulnerable to speed rushes off the edge.
- Can be overly aggressive at times, lunging at defenders and compromising his balance, which savvy pass rushers may exploit at the next level.
- While athletic, lacks elite flexibility in his lower half, which can hinder his ability to mirror quicker edge rushers through their full arc.
- Despite his impressive physical tools, is still refining his technique after transitioning from tight end, and may face a learning curve against elite SEC competition.
