Scouting Report

The tallest linebacker at the 2026 combine at 6-7, 221 pounds with 35-inch arm length, finishing 2025 with 76 tackles, seven TFLs, three sacks, two pass breakups, and five forced fumbles while starting 40 games across four years at USC. His rare size and length allow him to make tackles outside of his frame, create plays in throwing lanes, and show bend as a pass rusher, while also feeling comfortable dropping into zone coverage. Projects as an early Day 3 versatile linebacker with three-down upside in the right scheme.

Player Comparison

Eric Kendricks (larger version)

Strengths

  • Gentry has quickness in his hands and uses his length effectively.
  • He plays bigger than his listed size, with the functional strength and motor to take on and hold ground against much bigger blockers.
  • The talent is there as a sideline-to-sideline playmaker.
  • He possesses an intriguing blend of size and movement skills. He has good length, wide shoulders, and long arms, and Gentry has room to add weight.
  • His ability to anticipate gives him legitimate sideline-to-sideline range. He’ll work hard to disengage when he has to, and he has the long arms and heavy hands to shed blocks.
  • He has enough speed to chase and run in pursuit. Gentry has the overall athleticism to hold up in space when dropping into coverage.

Areas to Improve

  • Lacks pop and strength to anchor, though. Most effective when uncovered inside and chasing stretch plays to the sideline.
  • Doesn’t play with a physical edge. Gentry too often wants to run around the edge, and Gentry has trouble disengaging when an offensive lineman can get into his frame.
  • While he has the take-on skills to be a 4-3 Mike, he’s probably better as a Will so he can maximize his range and speed.

  • Similarity Percentage
  • : This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis
  • of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is
